Not easy being Gnome

Not Easy Being Gnome
by Robert G Parent

Click here to listen to poem

Its not easy being a Gnome
you can't even reach
the door knob or the remote
to turn off wrastling on Scifi

Its not easy being a Gnome
the only link left
in Special Unit 2
the abuses from humans

Its not easy being Gnome
being the butt of jokes
the abuses from humans
and a fire hydrant for dogs

Its not easy being Gnome
having that roaming idiot
representing your race
I know how the Geico caveman feels

Its not easy being a Gnome
( dramatic pause )
Its not easy being a Gnome
mother fackers
I'm not only a Gnome
but the 5th Cyclon
and I'm coming for you

The Force Angel

Hey everyone, I have another scifi poem. This one is about season 4 of the New BSG. I keep trying to put out poems on a more regular basis so hang in there. I did just finish a New Doctor Who poem. I just have to type it out and record it.

The Force Angel
by Robert G Parent

The angel from the Gods,
or is it God, comes
to lead her people home
realizing an ancient Dream

Started long ago
many beings forgotten
known only as. God or Gods,
in history's river

The one's who saw the truth
of war, apathy and trickery
wanted to make a change
and create a paradise

Adam and Eve
did not come from Earth
but came to Earth
humans of a different time

An angel sent
to a lost tribe
trying to find home
battle their creations

in deepest, darkest space
trying to find peace
trying to end the war
battle creations of mind

in deepest, darkest space
the Angel, Kara Thrice
comes back with a message
comes back with hope, peace

messenger to her people
started long ago
by many forgotten beings
with an ancient dream

to return to a future time
a paradise created
the angel guides them
to an island in space

to return home
to reunite with a people
on a peaceful island in space
at creation's birth, Earth.

Dead like Me again

Click here to listen to poem

Dead like Me again
by Robert G Parent

the toiletseat from space
somewhere high above the heavens
satelites spinning around the Earth
space labs orbit around the Earth
then an explosion
and the shrapnel enters the Earth's
atmosphere, building up speed
the toilet seat you see comes closer
and then at once, no more,
your life's been cut short
by this toilet seat from space

the lessons you have to learn
must now be learned in death
as a reeper you shall be
stuck in your bardo
figuring out what is life and death

figuring the meaning of it all
the toilet seat from space,
your death, your families separation,
missing you and you missing them
remembering pieces of a life you've
lived in a past, trying to make sense of it all

the toilet seat from space
ended your life in the prime
but even as the reeper you are
you've discovered new life
new friendships as your lessons
of life and death
figuring out a way to go home
to continue the existence

The Cylon's Dream

click here to listen to poem

The Cylon's Dream
by Robert G. Parent

They are as us
walking the street at dawn
creating the picture we see
in charge of the lives we live.

To be hidden in plain sight
glimpses of another world
another world within this one
but a new hope has arisen.

To play the game
within the game
to wake within the dream
and go beyond our programming.

To set upon the unknown country
the path that leads
to a greater future
for the creator and created.

Ode to Frak

click here to listen to poem

Ode to Frak
by Robert G Parent

"We're frakken going the wrong way"
who will frak who
the president or the cylons
Starbuck the angel will save them all

To frak or to frag
the histories of words
says there is only one
in BSG's wholeness

The history of frak
says its a BSG word
just as we are out of luck
the colorfulness stands firm.

Many other uses to frak
has come up,
to frak someone, as example,
not in the sexual sense.

Just as the US fraked Saddam,
but not before Saddam fraked his people.
fraked in this sense
creates a whole new meaning.

Frak,
yes, frak is also said
when people make a mistake
Like, "Oh frak, I forgot to rhyme."

frak also denotes of frustration
when things go wrong
we move from mad to indignation.
Awe yes, the many shades of frak.

Yes, if it were not for frak,
we would not have expressions like
frak you, frak this, frak "that"
or the "What the frak is going with BSG."

And all those,
who watch BSG,
if your not fraked up yet,
watch season 4,
its frak-a-licious.

The Bard's Truth by Robert G Parent

02 The Bard's Truth

The Bard's Truth
by Robert G Parent

They re-created us
as a slave race
changed our DNA
to fit their need.

But in that creation
we had become more
smarter and faster
we rebelled on our masters.

The basic story of sci-fi
from the stories of old
teach us of ourselves
we're set upon a new road.

No longer carved in stone
our future, we create
as we discover our soul
and the Bard's Truth.

Nostradamas' Secret by R G Parent

Download Poem
01 Nostradam's Secret

Nostradamas' Secret
by Robert G Parent

Warnings from a past sage
psychic messages in poetic form
tells of invasion
of extraterrestrial form

connected to this time
by unknown means
or secrets of time unlocked
in a season, it will be seen

before the "First Wave"
a scout goes out
and his tale told
in hidden documents

The alien technology left behind,
A magic mirror,
An alien view screen,
connects two places in time.

Through Rose Colored Glasses by Robert G Parent

Through Rose Colored Glasses by Robert G Parent

Download poem here

Hey everyone, since I haven't uploaded any poems for some time, I uploaded two this time round. I do have some Doctor Who poems to record and upload, so stay tuned for them. And for all whoveans out there, how did you like the season 3 finally part 2? Can't wait for part 3. It's nice of them to go back to their roots of multiply part shows. See you all out there in the realms of time and relitive dimensions in space. That would be cool wouldn't it.

Robots in disguise
BattleStar Galactica
the Alpha and Omega
God – the one God --
God leads his Children to the lost world
to Earth.

Going through Hal, until
Adama, I cannot do that
Going through Hal, until
Adama, I cannot do that
Going through Hal, until
Adama, I cannot do that

Not all is as it seems
Man, Machine, Ship, Planet
All complex beings of form
flow in the rivers of the force
-- the creative energy --
that flows through all life
“luminous beings are we
not this crude matter” a past sage says

Going through Hal, until
Adama, I cannot do that
Going through Hal, until
Adama, I cannot do that
Going through Hal, until
Adama, I cannot do that

apart of the great maker itself
the seed radiated by
Creation's Energy
brings from to all
and separates 'til
illumination ( Realization )
comes.

the moment of Dove
knows inspirations love
the story plays
now on the mind's stage
creativity's born
in this time of magic

The Mothmen by Robert G Parent

The Mothmen by Robert G Parent

10 The Mothmen

The Mothmen
by Robert G Parent

They are around us
watching and waiting
for the time needed
when it happens.

They know much
They see all
living in unseen worlds
between this and the next

Shifting to our perception
found at the moment
where lives converse
our neighbors on Earth

emotional, mental, spiritual
or maybe the sixth sense
to grow as teen to adult
a part of a bigger world.

The Plan of Peace

Hey all, I know its been awhile for a Sci-fi poem. Hope you enjoy this one about "Battlestar Galactica"

09 The Plan of Peace

The Plan of Peace
by Robert G Parent

To live at peace
with our creations
man to machine
machine to man

A plan long ago
The first Cyclon war
distruction reigned
between the two

but there are those
tired of war's path
created another hope
and peace between
man and machine

The Gods of the many
became The God of the One
Symbol of the desired hope
that future time holds

The two fought to
the final distruction
of that old planet
man and machine worked.

Come into the time
at cycles' end
where transition waits
for man and machine

that discovery known
pieces come together
upsets time's balence
only for a time

the plan from long ago
works into manifestation
of the new way
peace between man and machine

On their new planet
from myths time
the journey of discovery
toward the new hope

that waits in Earth
Seeing new beginnings
begin a new cycle
in creation's scheme,
in 2008.

Torchwood by Robert G Parent

Torchwood
by Robert G Parent

Hey everyone, sorry for missing a couple of weeks. Work has been busy. I'm also trying to find time to record a gold master CD for this Christmas/Winter season and record video clips for my video show. Can I add more stuff to my to do list? Well, yes I can. But it's just so much fun.

This poem and last post's poem was actually written together. But I noticed they did not fit together. So I separated them and added/changed somethings from last post's poem.

Just because something is written doesn't mean its finished or cannot be changed. All of us here on the planet change, so why do we think our poems or any writtings cannot change -- they can.

enjoy the poem,
Robert

Truth of Torchwood by Robert G Parent

Truth of Torchwood by Robert G Parent

Hey everyone, this week's Scifi poem was inspired by the new Doctor Who -- a science fiction series on the Scifi Channel. Torchwood in the series is a secret government project envolving a weapon to distroy alien craft using the Earth's energy focused ( Makes you wonder if something like this hasn't really happen ).

Enjoy the poem,

Creation's Muse by Robert G Parent

Creation's Muse
by Robert G Parent

Inspiration can come from anyplace. It comes from your life and what you like to do, to watch, to listen to. One of the things I like is scifi and a variety of scifi movies and shows. What do you like to watch? listen to? or do? If your a writer, have you ever tried writing a poem, song, or story about a movie? ( It is fun )

This poem was inspired by an episode of "Deep Space 9" about Jake, who plays a writer. In the episode, a different type of alien appears to Jake and became his muse, but she feeds on his creativity and the thought processes in his brain/mind. Gives a new meaning to vampires. This week as I listened to the netcasts I listen to, I heard an episode of "Paranormal Cafe" where he was interviewing "the Alien Hunter". One thing I remembered in the show is that the Alien Hunter, who is a trained investigator, said that what we think about aliens, angels, and other mythological figures are not what we think they are. Well, that is one book I want to read. I'll look for the link and put it in the comments if you also want to read it.

Children of God by Robert G Parent

Children of God
by Robert G Parent

This is a popular topic when it comes to scifi -- God or Children of God. The Cylons in the "New Battlestar Galatica" consider themselves Children of God, which adds another layer to what or who God is. In a variety of New Age type books, the concept of Children of God has new meaning. It is said that ancient civilizations also played around and acted as gods. Its even said in some text that space aliens acted as gods and changed our DNA. Well the wheel of time comes around again. We act as gods in changing and shaping our world and our bodies. Hopfully we learn the lessons of the past and not be doomed to their fate, but instesd be greater then they of the past as we build on what they knew and always stay in the light.

Iro Loma by Robert G Parent

Iro Loma ( Before Morning )
by Robert G Parent

Hey all, this week I wanted to write a Vulcan poem. It was fun putting it together thanks to my Vulcan Grammer Book. I had to write the poem in English than translate it to Vulcan ( I have a whole new appreciation for translators ). This poem is all about the Long night of the Soul. My biggest challenge was coming up with a word that means what soul means because there is not a vulcan word for soul, so i had to combine two words ( Live Water -- reiya nasha ). I had fun doing this and will do it more often.

Enjoy the poem,
Bob

Dead Like Me by Robert G Parent

"Dead Like Me"
by Robert G Parent

This poem is about a series that I started watching on the Scifi channel. The Poem tells a story about a teen age girl who died and became a reeper. Now you'ld think that this series would be scary, but it is not. It's about some people who died, became reepers, who try and figure out what life is about. They are like in their own Bardo (a place inbetween life and death). Its not a new concept, but an old one that adds more to the mystery of creation. Enjoy the poem.
